Every job, start to finish

The challenge: A full three-bedroom house in Luton moving into a bungalow in Bedford, with the customer asking for everything to be dismantled and wrapped rather than carried as it stood. Three appliances needed disconnecting — washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher — and only the washing machine was to be reconnected at the far end. The rest was to stay dismantled on purpose: renovations were starting at the bungalow, and rebuilding furniture that was about to be moved around again would have been wasted work.

The result: Beds were taken apart, mattresses and upholstery wrapped, wardrobe doors and glass protected, and the garden furniture collected along with everything else. All three appliances were disconnected at the Luton property and the washing machine was re-plumbed and tested at the bungalow so the household had laundry from day one. Everything else was delivered wrapped and left that way, stacked where the customer wanted it, ready for the renovation work to start around it rather than being built twice.
